Hi Don
I came across your videos at Seniors Skiing. Cool stuff. We are a couple of colleagues in Obwalden and actively ski with the Hikorys. Next time again at the Lauberhorn race.
Are you related to the legendary Gerry Burch? Do you know him?
Many greetings from Switzerland
Hubi
Hi Hubi
So nice to hear from you and impressed to hear that you ski on Hikorys, especially on such a race course. I’m not related to Gerry but did start skiing in 1963 on wood skis with no edges and kandahar bindings.
Don
Thanks, Don for the trek down memory lane. Was wondering what natural snow looked like since we are still waiting for it in the northeast this winter. Also, l see you found evidence of what happened to my Bota Bag. Season’s Greetings, roger
Great to hear from you Roger
Glad you like the video.
What fun A great job Don! Happy New Year
Thanks Alan. Hope you have a good season.
Don,
Like others here, I saw the mention of Vintage Skiing on SeniorsSkiing.com. Boy, those video clips brought back memories. Leather lace boots, cable bindings, rope tows, bota bags… Thank you for taking us down memory lane.
It was a fun video to make. Thanks Rob.
Been there, done that, definitely not the good old days.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Don,
Senior skiing sent me off to see your video of vintage skiing. I didn’t see my picture in there but I am a vintage skier at 89 years old. I started skiing when I traded water ski lessons ( i’m from Miami Florida) for snow ski lessons in 1957. in my bedroom, I have a vintage ski with ski pins from 67 different places I have skied around the world, including Europe, South America, Japan, Canada, and of course, lots of places in the United States.
two years ago, while on a 70+ ski trip to Utah, I skied with a fellow who was 102 years old. I now have a new role model for my skiing. THANKS for the vintage film. Do you have other films and where are they?
Bill- Great to hear from you about your skiing background. My videos can be seen on YouTube at Montage Ski Productions 2.0 but this is the only one on vintage skiing.
