Remember this?
He isn’t falling. He’s demonstrating a ski technique from the 70s practiced by jet-setting ski racers. What is it called?

AVALEMENT. We tried to teach it…
Correct! Also called the jet turn. Only lasted a couple of season.
After Jean Claude K took all 3 golds, he made a movie where he had to ski a glacier in some robbery get-away scene. The technique used by Jean Claude in this daring descent was avalement, and it was shown in super slow motion. It was the most remarkable use of this technique, as he used reverse gravity to make his turns. This was the best example of linked avalement turns I’ve seen so far.
It makes my knees hurt now just to look at it.
Never saw JCK’s movie. However, I remember it as the Wayne Wong jet-turn. I’ve got a foggy memory of a poster of Wong doing the turn.
